Meghan studied fine art with a focus on oil painting but stepped away from their practice after feeling pressured to create “deep” work. Rediscovering their love for art years later, they taught themselves graphic design, landing a role as a designer at a stationery company. There, they embraced the joy of creating art purely for happiness rather than profundity.

Inspired by Spanish, French, and Italian cultures, Phthalo draws heavily from their transformative time studying art in Florence, Italy. Memories of painting in the streets, hosting dinners overlooking the Duomo, and exploring the city continue to shape their work. Through their art, they aim to inspire others to celebrate small joys and manifest their dreams while cherishing the beauty in the present.
